Pollywiggle Cottage is rural delight sleeping up to 8 non-smokers and two babies in cots.

We are open all year and offer short breaks and discounts for small parties out of high season. This is an ideal location for family holidays, friendship reunions, special celebrations or a romantic retreat for two.

Brimming with character, this delightful, well-equipped home wraps you in its cosy, comfortable interior. Nestled in secluded rambling flower gardens with lawns, Pollywiggle lies on the fringe of a tranquil village 12 miles from the stunning North Norfolk coastline.

There are quaint villages and historic towns to explore, with a splendid variety of pubs and eateries offering local delicacies such as samphire, Cromer crabs and Brancaster mussels to name a few. For the elderly to the very young, a wealth of amenities and attractions lie within an easy drive. There is a three-minute walk to the village children's adventure playground and a challenging high rope woodland adventure course a 5-minute drive away. A local bike hire company will deliver for free, quality cycles for all the family to explore the many country lanes and paths.

This coastal area is popular for sailing, fishing, seal-watching boat trips and of course building sandcastles! There are not only several beautiful nature reserves, stately homes and old castles in the area, but coastal steam trains to catch, a fun steam carousel to ride, a mighty Wurlitzer cinema organ to listen to ... and even dinosaurs to discover in the locality!

Kitchen:
This is very well-equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, cooker, fridge, electric cooker, tumble drier (in the bootroom) and dresser. There are ample and good quality saucepans, cooking utensils, cutlery, quality china crockery, glasses and dishes. The walk in pantry is fitted with shelves and houses a fridge freezer. The worktops are lit by ceiling spotlights. The floor is laid with Italian tiles.

Dining Room
Adjoining the kitchen is a small dining room which seats 8 with a high chair for a baby. The floor is laid with original quarry tiles.

Sitting room:
This south facing room has the benefit of four windows looking out on to the pretty flower garden surrounding the lawn. This is a part beamed room, tastefully decorated with two settees and three chairs. Although there is full central heating radiators, the log burner adds that extra cosy feeling in winter. The room is fully carpeted with additional large rugs and a variety of coffee tables. Satellite colour TV, DVD player/recorder and a Hi-Fi system provide audio and visual entertainment. In addition there is a chest of drawers packed with various popular family games, a wide selection of books throughout the cottage, a selection of DVDs and two comprehensive tourist information files.

Other rooms:
There is a downstairs boot room, ideal for storing wet outdoor clothing and footwear. Upstairs there is a small wash room with WC and basin.

The Garden

This is a typical, mature cottage garden laid to flowers beds and lawns to the front and rear. A small shallow pond is home to countless frogs and is alive with tadpoles or ‘pollywiggles’ in the spring. The garden is a wildlife haven with numerous nesting sites. There is a portable barbecue and garden tables and chairs.

Directions
Pollywiggle Cottage is about 130 miles North East of London. From the South via M11 to A11, take the A1065 to Swaffham. After about 12 miles towards Fakenham, turn left at the sign to West Raynham and after nearly two miles, enter the village. Take the Rudham Road out of the village for a few hundred metres, where there is a small country lane, The Drove, to the left. Pollywiggle cottage is set well back off The Drove on the left at the first bend.

Pollywiggle Cottage is 5 miles from the market town of Fakenham and 12 miles from the stunning coast of North Norfolk, it is ideally placed for Holkham, Holt, Sandringham, Thursford, and Wells-Nest-The-Sea. The vibrant medieval city of Norwich, with its international airport and fast rail links to London, is 25 miles away. The area is a popular film and TV location, with many castles, stately homes and nature reserves.

In the event of cancellation, the full rental will be due. However we will endeavour to re-let the property and if we are able to do so, whilst the deposit will be retained as a cancellation fee, the balance will be waived or returned as appropriate. Please take out your own holiday cancellation insurance if you require this cover.
